We’ve recently given KRO’s Facebook page an overhaul, a key point in our development plan to increase and enhance their online presence.

Facebook is a central consideration of any social media strategy; its popularity and reach make it a great way to engage customers and be a part of their everyday online experience. We felt that the nature of KRO’s brand, a group of sociable bars and restaurants, made Facebook a particularly appropriate tool for online marketing, and we designed a page which brings together all the distinctive KRO sites as a one-stop source of information and conversation.
First time visitors to the Facebook page are immediately greeted by the striking Welcome page, featuring the distinctive KRO branding which is consistently visible across their entire web presence. Different areas of the Facebook page can be accessed directly from here, making the traditional Facebook layout of ’Wall’ and ‘Info’ much more dynamic and interactive.
We created four main page areas, each with a different purpose and aim in mind: Bar Locations, KRO Card, Offers, and Bookings. We know that social media isn’t solely about creating a conversation – we wanted to use it as a way to drive traffic to KRO’s website and create new business too.
The Bar Locations page gives both information about each KRO restaurant and links to KRO’s main website to find out more, encouraging people to visit their website. The KRO Card page provides information about the loyalty programme run by KRO, promoting this great value-for-money scheme to customers who might not know about it and encouraging people to visit their local KRO and sign up. By including this information on the Facebook page, social media is being used to build both customer loyalty and KRO’s customer detail database for e-mail marketing.

Most important is the Bookings area. This is an integrated table booking system designed to capitalise on the promotional work of the other areas and encourage customers to book a table without having to leave Facebook to visit another site. It is convenient and easily accessed, and completes the concept of social media as a tool to both drive and secure new business.
